It's a Sunny Day in January!


Every day is a sunny day when you work with delicate ribbons, vintage beaded fringe and antique half-dolls. I just finished this piece. The ribbon flowers were fashioned with beaded centers and sewn to a shear shoulder cape. It surely was worn by a lovely woman dancing at twilight in the 1920's.


The half-doll is well worn~the tip of her nose has rubbed away. I love the tiny birds at the top of her dress. When I found her at the local antique fair, she was atop a beaten up silk pincushion with layers of crocheted lace, edged in pink. She asked me to take her home. And with me she resides...
